Moment of Abstract

Howdy! How is everyone doing? Well, I myself have launched a mass cleaning on my room. I already threw away three bags of junk - yahooey. While I was jogging this afternoon I envisioned my new CD cover, so I am inspired to focus and finish it. Can't die with my music and art in me. You never know when the death ghost will appear. I've linked Lenny Kravitz's Fly Away to this posting. Nighty night. xxxoo

Moment of Abstract
Moment of abstract
Reflecting
A complete lack
Of my mind registering unclear
Due to overwhelming fear
Already 21 mistakes
Leaving permanent scars with
No way to erase
Hands tied behind my back
I shall jump
And dive flat
Into my moment of abstract

Diamond Eye

Hola! I'm going to work on setting up my studio a wee bit more tonight, so I'll keep my posting short. Buenos Noches.
By the way, I've linked a live version of Led Zeppelin - Black Dog to this post. Nighty night. xxoo

Diamond Eye
Peering into the strange future
Which contains
Successes and bloopers
Landing on a squeamishly small
Remote tropical island
Lined with palm trees
Encrusted with a variety of diamonds
Blinded by the brilliant facets
Shut your diamond eye
Immediately
And swiftly swim
Into the swallowing sea

Life's Labyrinth

Hi Everyone! I know it has been a few days since I posted, but I've been teaching everyday and then gigging in the evenings and
fighting a stomach bug. I'm so happy to have an evening at home - yeah. I watched the previously record Project Runway from last Thursday. This Thursday is the final Thursday jam at the Redline before they close the club. I'll be playing with Tim Turner and Billy Spaulding. Come on down and jam!
My link features one of my favorite performers - David Bowie in Labyrinth - Magic Dance

Life’s Labyrinth
Traveling life’s labyrinth
While balancing on a skateboard
Pumping through corners
At break neck speeds
Years whizzing bye
Two steps forward
Ten skips back
All I can do is sit right down and laugh
Mountains or molehills
Sometimes pleasant scenes
Trying to make it to the end
With a modest amount of
Scrapes and screams

Broken Shell

Hi everyone! My inspiration for my blog tonight is a broken shell that is sitting on my bed table. Okay, I'm going to get back to cleaning and writing a song. Nighty night. xxoo My link tonight - Mr. Mister - Broken Wings

Broken Shell
Broken shell
Left in my hand
What sounds do you voice
What is my choice
Sounds of moving waves
Or a lover’s lost cry
There is a unique beauty
Expressed through your broken side
Granting one to see
Deep inside
Where true beauty resides

Riding a Red Tire

Hi everyone! Whelp, I had my longest day of teaching today, but I want to post my blog tonight since I missed my posting last night due to getting lost in a creative moment. I love this song: Sinead O'Connor - Last Day of Our Acquaintance. Nighty night. xxoo

Riding a Red Tire
Riding a red tire
Deep into a smoldering fire
Smells a little like burning cyber
Time to run this beachcomber
South against the wind
Jumping face first
Into a sideways swim
Along an untamed coast
Ending in an upside float

Mirror of the Backwards Show

Hi everyone! I had a fairly relaxing day today. I even took a nap - yeah! I'm still working on getting my studio set up - maybe one to two more weeks at the most, and then I can start creating some tunes on the the computer - ohh oohh. My mind is in a creative mode, thinking up things in the subconscious, so I'll keep this short. I've linked a really cool live version of U2's
'Where the Streets Have No Name.' Enjoy! Nighty night. xxoo

Mirror of The Backwards Show
Looking in the mirror of the backwards show
You observe what you see
But you never know?
Time is time
Till you walk in free fall
Removing most of what you heard
Was it backwards from what you learned?
Listening to what you see
Can you hear?
This comes after the known is unclear
Stripping your life down to a very fine thread
Do you see from what you feel?
Would it make you cry?
If you feel from what you see,
Will it make you die?
Meeting my soul will have to wait
Thin glass walls are made to break

Red Road of Survival

Hi everyone! I'm feeling a little blue tonight, because it is my last night to hang with my son before he heads back to college.
I guess I'll have to torture my cat now. I love pulling her tail, hee hee. I linked The Beatles, 'Long and Winding Road,' to this posting: Long and Winding Road
Nighty night. xxoo

Red Road of Survival
Red road of survival
Lead me to abundance
Lead me to peace
Lead me to a land filled with kindness
And a friendly face
Lead me to friends who are true
Lead me swiftly to a quiet place
Where my soul can renew
Lead me to where
I will never forget
My attitude of gratitude
Lead me to my highest goal
Unconditional love for all
Green and blue

Woo - Oh

Hi Everybody. Home from my gig with Tim Turner and Billy Spaulding at the Redline in West Seattle. Hopefully, Michael (my son)
and I will shoot some videos tomorrow. So, nighty night. xxoo

The Ramones - 'I Want to Be Sedated,' is linked to this post.

Woo Oh
Woo oh
What can I say?
Piled high on a tray
Delicate glasses
Some half empty
Some half full
Depending on
Which mental garden you stroll
The high priestess cries
Woo oh
Woo oh

9/11 -

Hi Everyone, I missed the past few days of posting due to my illness. I played a gig while feeling sick Friday night, and it plunged me into Theraflu - antihistamine land. I'm way too spacey to write while medicated, so I had to take a break. I actually had a couple of nights/mornings of five to six hours of sleep - record breaking for me. I really wanted to post on 9/11 in remembrance of the suicide attacks by al-Qaeda in 2001 on the Twin Towers in New York City and on the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. The poem which I'm posting I wrote in 2001 as lyrics for a song in response to the 9/11 attacks. I've recorded the music, but I've never added the lyrics. Maybe someday? I have the instrumental version of the song on my 'I Like You' CD - titled - Sleepless Dream. The illustration I created tonight. Hopefully I'll get back on track with my nightly/daily postings.
Has anyone else created or done anything in remembrance or reacting to the attacks of 9/11/2011?
Nighty night. xxoo
Mozart's Requiem is linked to this post.

Sleepless Dream

CHORUS
I had a sleepless dream last night
Filled with fear, filled with fright
I had a sleepless dream last night
Human suffering was visualized

VERSE 1
Towers crumbled, lives were lost
Many hearts were crossed
Morning skies
Drenched in flames
Evil played a vicious game
Cruel actions never justified
Peace has all but died

CHORUS
I had a sleepless dream last night
Filled with fear, filled with fright
I had a sleepless dream last night
Human suffering was visualized

BRIDGE
Cover us with arms from above
Shield us with motherly love
Vigilanties are heroes tonight
Bodies prevail the night

CHORUS
I had a sleepless dream last night
Filled with fear, filled with fright
I had a sleepless dream last night
Earthly peace has died

Lines of Madness

Hi Everyone, I've linked Peter Frampton, 'Lines On My Face,' as my tune for this posting. I actually wrote this poem at my gig last night, Redline with Tim Turner and Billy Spaulding, but I could only read half of my "doctor's" handwriting today. Home setting up my studio tonight, yeah, so much to do and so little time. Have a nice evening. xxooo

Lines of Madness
Lines of madness
Running through our genes
Create strange imaginings
From beginning to end
Trapped in a labyrinth
Of snake like coils
Exhausted in archaic
Dimensions
Designed deep within
Calling out in subdued
Whale like tones
Lines of madness
Nobody home

Infinity Disputed

Hi Everyone! I taught a ton of lessons yesterday, hiked 3 miles, and then my son and I made some great progress moving and cleaning the studio room. One week left till Michael, my son, goes back to school, so we are really pushing ourselves to get our goals done. Well off to teach a few lessons and hopefully practice a bit today. Have a nice day! xxoo p.s. I linked the Galaxy Song - Monty Python - The Meaning Of Life, since it seems to go with my poems theme.

Infinity Disputed
Subconscious throwbacks
Rocketing up from the thigh
Pirouetting and sashaying
From side to uneven side
The universe expands
To a mutated size
Infinity disputed
Accompanied by a C clef tune
The black night
At some point in time
Will begin to contract
With the forever changing tides

Elementary or Obvious

Hi everyone! Happy Labor Day! Devo's 'Whip It' is linked to the title of this blog posting. I had a fun gig last night playing at the Lighthouse in Des Moines with Tim Turner and Billy Spaulding. I sang and played on the acoustic guitar, 'I Started a Joke." I'm finally feeling better, yeah. Off for a hike and organizing my studio area. Have a nice gray day! xxoo

Elementary or Obvious
Elementary or obvious
Nothing visionary
Or contrived
Organized from the smallest thought
Inconclusive from all sides
Drawn more deeply
Into panels of the unknown
Sinking into a vat of feelings
A new perspective
Taken in stride

Tangy Toodles

Hi everyone! I finally got some rest today, yeah! It was a bit antihistamine inspired, but hey, I should be back to normal in a couple of days. Friday night's gig with Tim Turner at the Wild Vine was fun even though I was totally out of it. I just have to muster up enough energy to make it through my gig tonight at the Lighthouse in Des Moines with Tim Turner and Billy Spaulding. I enjoyed watching two of the previously recorded Project Runway episodes last night, since I play a gig on Thursday nights when the show is aired. It is sunny in Seattle, so I'm going to take a walk today! Have a nice day! xxoo

Tangy Toodles
Tangy toodles
Disappearing quickly
Like noodles coated in Undo soup
An interpreter of mysteries
Handcuffs himself
To media bent truths
Emancipation is desired
Maybe only occurring
Beneath elaborate typography
Engraved on a rose colored marble headstone

Blue and Purple Monster

Hi Everyone! Home from my doctor appointment. I only have bronchitis and not pneumonia - yeah! Played with Tim Turner and Rick Spano last night at the Redline in West Seattle. I guess the Redline will be closing at the end of September. I'll be playing a gig tonight with Tim Turner at the Wild Vine in Bothell/Mill Creek area. Have a nice day!! xxoo

Blue and Purple Monster
Blue and purple monster
Looking for new prey
Someone furry with low self esteem
Someone grey and very naïve
Blue and purple monster
I found a new be-gone spray
No victim you will find
Looking my way

Connecting The Dots

Hi Home from teaching lessons and then playing a gig at the Pike Place Bar & Grill with Tim Turner and Billy Spaulding. Musically it was a fun gig. Physically it was a bit painful due to this chest cold/flu body achy thing. I hope it doesn't turn into pneumonia. I'm starting to chronically cough, but I do have a doctor appointment tomorrow where I'm sure the doctor will clue me in. This guitar player about 15 years ago down when I lived in the Bay Area turned me onto this song, Duran Duran's Ordinary World.
I really like the universal message of this song.

Connecting The Dots
Connecting the dots
Of have and have-nots
Closing my eyes
To the whys?
Realizing and interfacing
Creating a new landscape
Of future possibilities
An escape route
Which will lead
Away from
The negative limitations of my
Ego daresay
