Arty Art

Hi Everyone! Okay, I know I've been slacking with my posts, but hey, three words: busy, busy, busy. I have two art pieces showing at the Edmonds Arts Festival this weekend, June 17 - 19. The Piano Teacher drawing, and the acrylic painting Four Flowers and Two Hands are part of the juried gallery. My art shown at the Edmonds Arts Festival is available to buy at the show. Art pieces from my new Modern Expressionism series are still hanging in the group show at Couth Buzzard Books till the end of June too. SALE! Half off my prices at the Couth Buzzard Books show, only two more weeks! Check it out if you get a chance! This past weekend was hectic with my son's graduation, my music students recital, and still teaching lessons all weekend. I'm making progress toward my goals this week. My son and I have been hiking a steep trail every morning, and I can finally fit into my size 3/4 leather pants again. Yeah! It has been a long journey getting back in shape, and overcoming the trauma that initially produced the stress hormone. Good thoughts and peace! My song 'I Like You' was played this morning on Live365 Internet Radio- Seattle ROKKX. I also have my music posted at: Reverbnation site. Off to my busy day! xxxxoo Have a Nice Day!

9/11 -

Hi Everyone, I missed the past few days of posting due to my illness. I played a gig while feeling sick Friday night, and it plunged me into Theraflu - antihistamine land. I'm way too spacey to write while medicated, so I had to take a break. I actually had a couple of nights/mornings of five to six hours of sleep - record breaking for me. I really wanted to post on 9/11 in remembrance of the suicide attacks by al-Qaeda in 2001 on the Twin Towers in New York City and on the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. The poem which I'm posting I wrote in 2001 as lyrics for a song in response to the 9/11 attacks. I've recorded the music, but I've never added the lyrics. Maybe someday? I have the instrumental version of the song on my 'I Like You' CD - titled - Sleepless Dream. The illustration I created tonight. Hopefully I'll get back on track with my nightly/daily postings.
Has anyone else created or done anything in remembrance or reacting to the attacks of 9/11/2011?
Nighty night. xxoo
Mozart's Requiem is linked to this post.

Sleepless Dream

CHORUS
I had a sleepless dream last night
Filled with fear, filled with fright
I had a sleepless dream last night
Human suffering was visualized

VERSE 1
Towers crumbled, lives were lost
Many hearts were crossed
Morning skies
Drenched in flames
Evil played a vicious game
Cruel actions never justified
Peace has all but died

CHORUS
I had a sleepless dream last night
Filled with fear, filled with fright
I had a sleepless dream last night
Human suffering was visualized

BRIDGE
Cover us with arms from above
Shield us with motherly love
Vigilanties are heroes tonight
Bodies prevail the night

CHORUS
I had a sleepless dream last night
Filled with fear, filled with fright
I had a sleepless dream last night
Earthly peace has died

Goofy Perspectives

Howdy. Well, I passed out before I could post my blog posting. After three hours of sleep yesterday, I taught lessons early in the morning, and then played a gig up in Arlington at The Stump with Brainstorm. On the way home I stopped by Tulalip casino and saw Randy Hansen (Jimi Hendrix impersonator) play. I have played with the drummer Rick Spano on and off for over ten years now. I hired Randy one year to play on my song, 'Take My Hand,' http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/lauriemiller2dd Randy is a great performer! I met my friend Lori there, and I did my drawing for this posting while sitting in the parking lot waiting for her to get there. We hung with my friend Eddie, who owns New CA Tavern. I have my last gig - five out of five days tonight at the J & M in Pioneer Square with Dr. Z and the MDs. I'm off to take a nap. Nighty night. xxoo

Goofy Perspectives
Goofy perspectives
Viewed through
Handprint tinted glasses
All aglow
Goofy perspectives
Twirling my mind around
Flowing through the atmosphere
Eventually ending
Smashed on the ground
Somewhere
