Rain Painting

Hi everyone,

Well, it has only been two days since my last posting- "Yahoo!"  I guess it is an improvement over the previous two year gap - lol.
Here is my grammatical and writing errors disclaimer - I'm not a morning person - and it is 6:30 am!
Also, I'm legally blind (for real - you should try my glasses on!) and it is difficult to see the screen.
My darn cat woke me up - "Meow, meow, meeee - ow!"  Argh!  When will she ever learn how to feed herself? Where did all of the mice go?
I'm feeling so much better today.  I have been fighting an intestinal bug for over a month now. It was really wiping my energy level out. I know I should probably go see a doctor, but ignorance is bliss.  I'm focused on healing myself for now.  I know I digress, but my brain does that.  I sometimes think in ten different directions at once.  Okay, not sometimes, all the time.  I have wonderful conversations with myself.  I was thinking yesterday that I feel successful in my spiritual evolution because I have arrived at a place in my life where I enjoy my own company.  Oh so anti-social of me, but true.  I love spending my time being positive, happy, and creative.

I'm sharing one of my beautiful 'Rain Paintings' from a new series I created in April.
I will soon describe in depth more about creating this series, but I'm getting sleepy!

Reflecting Life

Hi Everyone! Okay, so it has been more than a few weeks since I've posted. I admit that I've been procrastinating with this blog posting because it deals with the death of my Uncle Bill. He was my only older blood relative left. My Uncle Bill was my mother's brother. He was the biggest influence on my life concerning playing music and pursuing the arts. My uncle had received a scholarship to Juilliard, but instead he studied mathematics graduating Phi Beta Kappa and became an actuary. He left his piano at my mother's house, and I played the piano every chance I could. I loved playing classical music, Joplin, Debussy, and writing my own music. My uncle also painted, but he never painted when people were around. We had some of his amazing paintings hanging in our house however. Thank you Uncle Bill for all your gifts you shared.
This weekend my awesome son, Michael, is graduating from college (Central Washington University) - double major - Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with Honors, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration Specialization Finance, and a Minor in Economics. Also, this weekend, on Sunday to be exact, I will present my music students recital. I'm trying to breathe a little right now. Next week I'm taking a day off no matter what! I've linked Frédéric Chopin - Prelude in E-Minor (op.28 no. 4) to this blog, because my Uncle Bill loved to play Chopin. The painting posted with this blog is a quick five minute acrylic painting I created last night. xxxoo Nighty night.

Reflecting Life
Trying to remember
A life that once was
Always remembering
To take back my life
To reflect who I really am and how I feel
Because, life will reflect back
How I feel about myself

In a Green Monster's Mouth

Hello! It has been awhile since I posted to my blog. I've been feeling very exhausted and burned out. Hopefully someday soon I'll get a break so that I can work on my paintings, songwriting, writing, reading, and resting. At least I had a fun time playing this weekend with Granite Reign (Hans, Eric, & Chris). Finally I'm getting a chance to play my originals again, and Hans' cool originals. Also, I get to sing more songs. I hope that I can find a wee bit of time to book some original acoustic gigs, finish setting up my studio, and finish my CDs. That is if I don't die first from exhaustion. Oh well, it's a flip of a coin which will come first. Another long day of teaching ahead of me, so "have a nice day!" xxoo

In the Mouth
When you are trapped
Inside the mouth of a green monster
Grow a vine a faith
Starting with a seed of hope
Water with belief
Fertilize with trust and patience
Escape quickly
Flee the freaks

Cleaning Limits

Hola! Okay, I'm feeling overwhelmingly joyful I get another night to myself to refocus on my goals and create some art and songwriting. I've been asked to play a group show at the Triple Door next month, so I need to finish writing a song I started a few months ago. I hope I can find my notes on it somewhere - okay I'm still working on my organizational skills, but I'm doing a lot better than before. I really want to start tonight on another large surreal watercolor painting too. I've linked up Eric Carmen's youtube live performance of 'All By Myself', because my friend Susan didn't know what I was talking about when I tried to sing the song to her on the phone today. Nighty night. xxoo

Light of the Woods

Hola! Well, I survived my 29th (just kidding) birthday yesterday. I didn't really do much but teach all day and evening. Yippey kiya! Anyway, since I haven't had even an hour to myself for over a week now, I'm going to use my favorite acrylic painting that I painted this past year as my inspiration for tonight's blog. Hopefully I'll be able to sleep more than two hours tonight. Nighty night. xxoo

Light of the Woods
Light of the woods
Guide my footsteps
To tread lightly on a path
Ending at new destination
Guide my words
To say and write
With love and kindness,
Never hate
Guide my actions
To help and serve myself and others
With love and care
Guide my thoughts
To stay positive and pure
Saturated with compassion and forgiveness
Light of the woods
Lift my life
To a new energy level
Filled with peace not strife

Weird Energy

Okey schmookey. I'm home from my Tim Turner jam tonight at the Redline in West Seattle with Billy Spaulding on drums. I always enjoy hearing a lot of talent play at the jam. It is now 2:45 am, and after posting my blog I need to finish my river painting for the Edmonds art festival deadline tomorrow. I can't believe I'm still awake since I had double dose of severe cold medicine along with a Theraflu. I'm going to sleep well tomorrow night. Night night. xxoo

Weird Energy
Weird Energy
Buzzing through the atmosphere
Why is this occurring?
A conundrum exists
Maybe Jupiter is slipping to the left
Maybe Mars is
Taking a recess
Acknowledging the foremost
Thought of all
It is not what is happening to you
it is how you are reacting
