Cat Scratch

Hi everyone! I taught lessons from noon - 6 pm, and then I played a gig (an hour drive from my house) down in Des Moines hosting a jam with at The LIghthouse with Tim Turner and Billy Spaulding yesterday. I didn't make it back home, since the jam ran long, till 3 am. Ugh!
The Seahawks beat the Rams 16 to 6 yesterday. Yeah! The play off game is January 8th, Seahawks vs. New Orleans Saints. I woke up early today to make steak and eggs for my son before he left back to Central University. I taught some lessons this afternoon, and I woke up from a nap a little bit ago to paint this small acrylic painting and write this poem. I'm really looking forward to some new adventures in 2011. Nighty night. xxoo

Elementary or Obvious

Hi everyone! Happy Labor Day! Devo's 'Whip It' is linked to the title of this blog posting. I had a fun gig last night playing at the Lighthouse in Des Moines with Tim Turner and Billy Spaulding. I sang and played on the acoustic guitar, 'I Started a Joke." I'm finally feeling better, yeah. Off for a hike and organizing my studio area. Have a nice gray day! xxoo

Elementary or Obvious
Elementary or obvious
Nothing visionary
Or contrived
Organized from the smallest thought
Inconclusive from all sides
Drawn more deeply
Into panels of the unknown
Sinking into a vat of feelings
A new perspective
Taken in stride

Tangy Toodles

Hi everyone! I finally got some rest today, yeah! It was a bit antihistamine inspired, but hey, I should be back to normal in a couple of days. Friday night's gig with Tim Turner at the Wild Vine was fun even though I was totally out of it. I just have to muster up enough energy to make it through my gig tonight at the Lighthouse in Des Moines with Tim Turner and Billy Spaulding. I enjoyed watching two of the previously recorded Project Runway episodes last night, since I play a gig on Thursday nights when the show is aired. It is sunny in Seattle, so I'm going to take a walk today! Have a nice day! xxoo

Tangy Toodles
Tangy toodles
Disappearing quickly
Like noodles coated in Undo soup
An interpreter of mysteries
Handcuffs himself
To media bent truths
Emancipation is desired
Maybe only occurring
Beneath elaborate typography

Dong a Long Bird

Hola. Happy 4th of July one and all!!! The title of this blog posting is linked to the youtube video of 'Fleetwood Mac's - 'The Chain.' The first cover band that I played in down in the Bay Area performed a lot of Fleetwood Mac, so this song reminds me of that time period. Tonight I arrived home about an hour ago from playing a gig with Tim Turner and Billy Spaulding at The Lighthouse in Des Moines. Fun gig musically, but I really don't like hanging in bars anymore. My tolerance and patience has worn see through thin when dealing with ignorant statements and drunks. Time for a change. Oh well, it takes all kinds of people to keep life interesting - NOT!
My son and I had a wonderful trip to the Olympic mountains on Saturday. We explored about four different areas including Hurricane Ridge and Dungeness Spit. Once Michael has posted his photos from our trip to a site, I'll link this blog to them.
Nighty night. xxoo

Dong a Long Bird
Dong a long bird
Singing a ding a ling song
About the sorrows of life
All day and night long
The dong a long bird
Can do no wrong
While she chirps
Her ding a ling song
Even adding
A jig or two
To keep her busy
Instead of
Swimming in blue

Sticky Mess

Hola! I wrote this blog posting Sunday night after my gig at the Lighthouse in Des Moines with Tim Turner and Billy Spaulding, but I was too tired to post it last night. Five 16 hour days in a row has been a bit much on my poor body. I can't wait till I can get some rest. Probably next Sunday after my music student recital. I will be able to write a bit more tomorrow. Nighty night. xxoo

Sticky Mess
Sticky mess
Beneath where
The raven soars
Which body part
Will win
When it comes time
To tallying up the score
Weeding is needed
First in several places
Then maybe
Smiles will return
To healing faces
