Broken Glasses

Hi, I drew this illustration and wrote this poem last night after my J & M gig, but I passed out before I could post it. I've been fighting a bug, so I'm a little out of it. I did get about six hours of sleep last nigh. Yeah!!! I survived my long day of teaching today, and I need to get some more rest to kill this little crawling sick bug. Night night. xxoo

Broken Glasses
Broken Glasses
I’m wearing tonight
Through broken glasses
I view second sight
Be true to your
Own vision for yourself
Be careful not to be derailed
By hidden agendas of selfish souls
Hold strong to
Your point of view
Even if you are
Wearing broken glasses
Held together with super glue

Ten Seconds

Hi! After sleeping for two hours, I woke up, prepared, and then taught some music lessons. My body and mind are still in need or rest, so hopefully I can get more than three or fours hours of sleep tonight. Nighty night. xxoo

Ten Seconds
Ten seconds
To rest
Ten seconds
To breathe
Ten seconds
To heal
Everything in between
Ten seconds
To write
A new to do list
Ten seconds
To dream
Of a new life of bliss

Ohm

Hi! I'm home from my gig with Brainstorm at the Dutch Cup in lovely Sultan Washington. Since I have to get up super early tomorrow to teach, I'll keep this posting short. Nighty night. xxoo

Ohm
Ohm, ohm,
I meditate
Every night
Ohm, ohm
Hoping to get it right
Ohm, ohm
Hoping I can meditate
A bountiful future tonight
Ohm, Ohm,
After six years of Ohming
I hope
I can soon get it right

Crazy Cycles

Hi everyone. I'm going to try and get to bed early tonight, since I have a super long day tomorrow. Nighty night. xxoo

Crazy Cycles
Crazy cycles
My life rides
Around and around
Deep inside
A gerbil wheel
Turning forever
Around and around
If it stops
Will I hit the ground?

From Beyond

Hola. Yet another long day starting with playing bass for hire on a recording session. I snuck in a little yoga (to my video tape),
and about a two mile jog. I taught some lessons and then worked out at the gym with weights. My goal is to get into top shape before I video tape my bass solo songs, hopefully by August I'll be ready. My son has been more than kind and helpful in posting my student's videos to youtube from the June 13th recital which I held at Avamere Rehabilitation center. I'm going to try to get eight hours of sleep tonight. Blessings to all. Nighty night! xxoo

From Beyond
From beyond
Into the night
I see the sights deep
Within my yawn
Days flying by
Not knowing why
Experiencing a
Forever sigh
From beyond
Into the night

Whizzy Whiz

Howdy. Okay, I'm ready to fall over, so I'll make this quick. My first day off from doing both teaching and gigging in five days. I only taught for nine hours today. My nervous system is shaking and I have an early recording session before more teaching tomorrow, so I'm going to bed. Nighty night. xxoo

Whizzing Wizard
Whizzing wizard
Whiz me a special wish
A wish of happiness
Of course for everyone
And a selfish wish for me
Enough abundance
That I can afford to sleep
For a week

Throbbing Feet

Hi everybody!! I'm home from playing at the J & M in Pioneer Square with Dr. Z and The MDs. I love the grooves and playing the Hendrix. After five gigs in five days/nights it is time for me to say, "nighty night!" xxooo

Throbbing Feet
I’m feeling my heart
Beating in the balls of my feet
Lub dub, lub dub,
Lub dub, lub dub, lub dub
My personal foot masseur
Is almost a half a year late
Lub dub, lub dub
Lub dub
Maybe I’ll cut
My feet off
And use them for
Fishing bait

Goofy Perspectives

Howdy. Well, I passed out before I could post my blog posting. After three hours of sleep yesterday, I taught lessons early in the morning, and then played a gig up in Arlington at The Stump with Brainstorm. On the way home I stopped by Tulalip casino and saw Randy Hansen (Jimi Hendrix impersonator) play. I have played with the drummer Rick Spano on and off for over ten years now. I hired Randy one year to play on my song, 'Take My Hand,' http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/lauriemiller2dd Randy is a great performer! I met my friend Lori there, and I did my drawing for this posting while sitting in the parking lot waiting for her to get there. We hung with my friend Eddie, who owns New CA Tavern. I have my last gig - five out of five days tonight at the J & M in Pioneer Square with Dr. Z and the MDs. I'm off to take a nap. Nighty night. xxoo

Goofy Perspectives
Goofy perspectives
Viewed through
Handprint tinted glasses
All aglow
Goofy perspectives
Twirling my mind around
Flowing through the atmosphere
Eventually ending
Smashed on the ground
Somewhere

Squiggy Wiggy

Hola. Home again after another lovely overworked underpaid gig. Umm, I just love devaluing myself - NOT. I actually really like the band, Blue 55, and the guys (Glen - guitar & Eric- drums) are great, I am just bored not growing or learning anything at all in these club situations. I really would rather be reading, writing, painting, or umm sleeping - yeah!!! Hopefully I'll be moving on from this scene soon. Okay, need sleep for another lovely day of no time for my self or my creativity. Nighty night. xxoo

Squiggy Wiggy
Squiggy wiggy
My brain is squishy wo
Squiggy wiggy
I certainly don’t know
Okay, I do know
I want a huge big change to happen
Hippity hop
Hopefully before it snows

Dangerous Detours

Howdy, I've linked my favorite Kid Rock song, 'Cowboy', to the Title of this blog. I used to love dancing to this song back in the day. I arrived home tonight about an hour ago after playing a four hour gig with Brainstorm at Eddie's Trackside up in Monroe, Washington. I think next week I'll have fewer hours to work and more time to spend on my creativity. Yeah! I really miss creating. Another long day tomorrow, so nighty night. xxoo

Dangerous Detours
Dangerous detours
Have turned me around
Twirled me like a crashing helicopter
Changed my smile to a frown
Dangerous detours
With false promises
Of happiness and forever after
Have broken my heart
And destroyed my laughter
Now I slowly crawl on my knees
Proceeding with extreme caution
Staying on the main road
Never to grieve

Coated in Muck

Hi Everyone. Okay, here is a quicky posting inspried by the oil spill of May 3rd in the Gulf of Mexico -
If the wellhead is lost, oil could flow from the well at a much greater rate of up to 150,000 barrels, or more than 6 million gallons per day, whereas the Exxon Valdez spill was 11 million gallons total. The Gulf spill could end up spilling the equivalent of 4 Exxon Valdez spills per week. I shall research the oil spill and damages being incurred once I have a little bit more time.
Nighty night.

Coated in Muck
Coated in muck
Oh, yuck, yuck, yuck
It sucks
I wish I could
Take a warm shower
To remove the muck
And regain my energy and power

Life is Full of Something

Hi Everyone. My body broke down and got sick today from working too much. Poor body. Wah! I'll have to make my posting quick so that I can get some rest. I taught some lessons today, and then I played a gig with Dr.Z & The MDs at the J & M in Pioneer Square. The band features Dr. Z on guitar and vocals and Sheldon Miller (my brother from a different mother) on drums, and of course yours truly on bass. I will soon post some new video links and photos from the recital to my music teaching site, www.lauriemillerteaching.com. Nighty night. xxoo

Life is Full of Something
Life is full of something
Red, green, or blue
Something strange
Something new
Something to make you wonder why
Something to make you break down and cry
Life is full of something
Something romantic would be cool
Something beautiful for me and you

Sliding

Hi - This is my Sunday, June 13th posting. I missed a few days of posting due to utter exhaustion. I've performed ten four hour gigs in twelve days with five different bands, was in charge of two school recitals, taught private lessons, organized and ran my own private student recital, and worked nine 12-16 hour days in the past 12 days. Okay, my body is very sore, and I'm in need of a good massage and hours of sleep. My recital for my private students was held today at Avamere, a retirement center in the Richmond Beach area. The show went great, and all of my students played their instruments exceptionally well. I am truly blessed with a wonderful son, his girlfriend, and wonderful students and their families. I hope to get back on track with my daily blog postings and creations starting today. Nighty night. xxooo

Sliding
Sliding into ecstasy
Carving a new path
Ghost arise from the past
Creating circles of mayhem
The only escape
Is to ask the right questions
To follow a new set of lines
To have the last laugh

Sticky Mess

Hola! I wrote this blog posting Sunday night after my gig at the Lighthouse in Des Moines with Tim Turner and Billy Spaulding, but I was too tired to post it last night. Five 16 hour days in a row has been a bit much on my poor body. I can't wait till I can get some rest. Probably next Sunday after my music student recital. I will be able to write a bit more tomorrow. Nighty night. xxoo

Sticky Mess
Sticky mess
Beneath where
The raven soars
Which body part
Will win
When it comes time
To tallying up the score
Weeding is needed
First in several places
Then maybe
Smiles will return
To healing faces

Palm of Your Hand

Ahhh. I am so happy!!! I finally get a little bit of a break this morning. Yeah! My house is beginning to look like an episode from Hoarders. Ugh!!!! I taught six private lessons today and then I played a gig with Brainstorm at the Inn in Lynnweird, WA.
My arms are aching and numb, so I going to go and grab hold of those elusive zzzzzs. Nighty night. xxoo

Palm of Your Hand
Blunder, blunder
Toil and wonder
Sitting in the palm of your hand
Time to jump
Time to run
Time to know
Who I am
Time to know
Where I am
Time to know
What I can

Lemon Rain

Howdy. All righty, I'm like (valley girl talk) so freaking tired that I will have to keep this to a half an inch short. Home from teaching and playing a gig with Tim Turner and Billy Spaulding. Another super long day and early rise for tomorrow, so hopefully next week I'll get a chance to sleep, spend some time on my creativity, and figure out the music media player part of my blog etc. Nighty night. xxoo.

Lemon Rain
Lemon rain
Dropping down on me
It stings a little
Like a million bees
I’ll rise from
This boring suppressing muck
And ask
The person squeezing
Hey, what’s up?

Lushes Cupcake

Hi Everyone. What a long day!!! 11 am till getting home at 3 am. I'm about to pass out, so I'll make this quick. I played bass on a recording session this morning, taught lessons, and played a new gig with Dr. Z and the MDs at the J & M in Pioneer Square. Musically it was an awesome day. Off to bed! Nighty night. xxoo

Lushes Chocolate Cupcake
Lushes chocolate cupcake
Waiting for me
What color will your
Creamy filling be?
A cherry surprise
Or a peanut butter delight
I know I keep you home alone
On a plate
But only because I know
My final fate
Once I take a small sweet bite
I will lose my self love fight

One Sweet Bite

Buenos Noches! My body is fighting a bug tonight, but I did sleep for seven hours so mentally and emotionally I feel great. Ummm, yum. I really love sleeping, but I only average about 3 - 4 hours of shut eye per night. Someday I'll get a break! Dennis Hopper passed away this weekend. I read somewhere that Blue Velvet, a movie Dennis Hopper acted in, was the movie which represents the astrological sign of Taurus (my sign.) If you ever watched this movie you would know how creepy and disturbing this fact is. I have five gigs in a row this week, a recital, lessons, and feeding the cat and snake, so ........nighty night. xxooo

One Sweet Bite
I want to suck your blood
I want to soak in suds
I want to feel my heart melt
I want to remember how you felt
I want to blend our colors
To create a masterpiece
And it all begins with
One sweet bite
To saturate the night
