'Take My Hand' - Video

Good Morning!
I added a new video, 'Take My Hand' to Youtube this morning.  My son, Michael, produced and added his beautiful photography to the video.
'Take My Hand' is a romantic ballad I wrote a few years ago.  I first included a version of the
song on the Missing Children - 'Wants and Needs' CD.
This video includes the latest version of the song recorded in early 2000's and it is included on three of my CDs: 'Tall Tales', 'Fornicated Infinity', and 'I Like You'.
'Take My Hand' features a solo by Randy Hansen.

I you have a wonderful day, and that my video can bring some beauty to your world.

Rose with a Hand

Hi Everyone! It is sunny and warm here in the Seattle area. It is supposed to get up to 80 degrees today. I know we are extremely lucky that we are not frying in the east coast heat wave. Stay cool sister!! Terrible news concerning the Norway shooting incident.
My thoughts go out to them. I had a fun gig playing with Hans and company last Friday. Sounded great with the new drummer, John, and Doug on sax. I'm getting geared up for the gig next Saturday at the Bellevue Arts Festival. I'll be playing an hour acoustic set of my originals featuring my son on violin and Carol on percussion. I dropped my cell phone in water on Friday, so no microwaves frying my brain for a couple of days. This is probably a good thing. I wonder what the human cell phone brain is starting to mutate into? I'm including a new miniature acrylic painting I created last night with this posting. My son and I should be done with my new temporary art site by sometime this week - www.lauriemillermodernart.com. We have about four or five more categories of art series left to complete. Onward to get some housework done before teaching. 'Have a Nice Day' - xxoo, Laurie

Trees with Hands

Hi everyone! I can't believe almost a week has passed since I last posted to my blog. Oh well. Too much has been happening with the holiday season here. Tonight/this morning is the lunar eclipse.
I played a fun gig with Granite Reign on Friday night. My son and I finally decorated our christmas tree last night. I was saddened to hear that Michael Kahler, a Seattle musician, passed away in his sleep last night. Well, I have a long day/night ahead of me tomorrow, filled with lessons and gig at the Barrel in Burien with Tim Turner and Doug McGrew. Nighty night. xxoo

I've linked Aaron Copland - Billy the Kid-Concert Suite to this posting.

Trees with Hands
Trees with hands
Searching the skies
For answers to questions
Contemplating several whys
Grasping and grabbing
Finally realizing the truth
Sit still and be calm
Allowing the answers
To flow from the roots

Man and Woman in a Vase

Hi everyone! Today was an awesome day, even though I was a wee bit tired and sleep deprived. My wonderful son, Michael, treated me and his fiance, Stephanie, to tickets to see the Picasso show at SAM. It was the Masterpieces from the Musee National in Picasso, Paris to be exact. This series of Picasso's paintings spanned from 1906 - 1972. The show was very inspiring to me. I created a piece about 18" x 30" using the medium of oil pastels and chalk, which I have a limited amount of experience with, in response to the Picasso show. The piece is called, 'Man and Woman in a Vase.' I've linked Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata to this posting. Nighty night.

Man and Woman in a Vase

Man and woman in a vase
What sort of love
Shall you embrace?
A love incrusted in harmony and peace
Or a love coated in strife and decrease
The answer it seems is to realize
In the end love is experienced uniquely
Through what you create
With your soul’s eye
