9/11 -
Hi Everyone, I missed the past few days of posting due to my illness. I played a gig while feeling sick Friday night, and it plunged me into Theraflu - antihistamine land. I'm way too spacey to write while medicated, so I had to take a break. I actually had a couple of nights/mornings of five to six hours of sleep - record breaking for me. I really wanted to post on 9/11 in remembrance of the suicide attacks by al-Qaeda in 2001 on the Twin Towers in New York City and on the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. The poem which I'm posting I wrote in 2001 as lyrics for a song in response to the 9/11 attacks. I've recorded the music, but I've never added the lyrics. Maybe someday? I have the instrumental version of the song on my 'I Like You' CD - titled - Sleepless Dream. The illustration I created tonight. Hopefully I'll get back on track with my nightly/daily postings.
Has anyone else created or done anything in remembrance or reacting to the attacks of 9/11/2011?
Nighty night. xxoo
Mozart's Requiem is linked to this post.
Sleepless Dream
CHORUS
I had a sleepless dream last night
Filled with fear, filled with fright
I had a sleepless dream last night
Human suffering was visualized
VERSE 1
Towers crumbled, lives were lost
Many hearts were crossed
Morning skies
Drenched in flames
Evil played a vicious game
Cruel actions never justified
Peace has all but died
CHORUS
I had a sleepless dream last night
Filled with fear, filled with fright
I had a sleepless dream last night
Human suffering was visualized
BRIDGE
Cover us with arms from above
Shield us with motherly love
Vigilanties are heroes tonight
Bodies prevail the night
CHORUS
I had a sleepless dream last night
Filled with fear, filled with fright
I had a sleepless dream last night
Earthly peace has died
